WILL YOU MISS ME WHEN I'M GONE
2017
drawings

conceived during 2017 Your Own Grad School artist residency, presented as part of We don't have one/I will be very soon exhibition at Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning

The 5th iteration of Your Own Grad School was jointly hosted by Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre and Agnes Etherington Art Centre, an artist-driven space and a research-intensive institution on a university campus respectively. For the residency, I devise a scheme to sell Rembrandt’s Man With Arms Akimbo in order to fund the work of local artists. I invite artists, art historians and other interested publics to have conversations about their relationship to the art centre and access to its collections, municipal funding for artists and zero-sum thinking, and the state of funding for their own work. I give each participant a drawing of the painting, with the question: will you miss me when I'm gone.
